KKG is recognized as a pioneer and leading planner in the fields of volunteer and donations management. KKG can develop and provide customized plans for both governmental and non-governmental organizations with an understanding of the local landscape to effectively meet each individual organization’s needs.
KKG conceptualized and authored a plan utilizing Emergency Volunteer Centers (EVCs) that has become a statewide model of effective collaboration between local government and other partner agencies for the coordination of spontaneous volunteers. This model provided plan development, training, exercises and ongoing program continuity of operations. In continuing to develop innovative tools, KKG developed the E-learning series of online videos for operating Emergency Volunteer Centers. The purpose of these videos is to prepare anyone tasked with staffing, operating and managing an EVC. The videos were designed to be both a preparedness and just- in-time training tools.
In coordination with Bay Area UASI, KKG developed eight just-in-time training video modules for 7 RCPGP Plans including Introduction to Emergency Operations Centers, Volunteer Management, Donations Management, Mass Care and Shelter, Mass Transportation and Evacuation, Debris Removal, Mass Fatality, and Logistics. The scope of the project is to prepare staff to execute topic specific operations that are outlined in Regional Emergency Plans when reporting to local government Emergency Operations Centers during a catastrophic event in the bay area. These JIT trainings will also assist in making the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) tasks more seamless. Bay Area UASI was a awarded a 2015 California Emergency Services Association (CESA) Gold Award for these training videos.
