Field Response, Coordination & Support
KKG supports the new norm of disaster reality in innovative ways that go beyond traditional consultant-driven methods. Our team is composed of expertly trained and experienced members who are well versed in serving in local government and operational areas’ Emergency Operations Centers. Our team also supports the role of the EOC in the field through coordinating emergency support functions during disaster and recovery.
Over the past two years, KKG has been activated during the response and recovery phases of the San Jose Floods, Napa Earthquake and North Bay Firestorms. Using our in-depth knowledge of the emergency plans and annexes we have developed and exercised for clients, and the knowledge of their responsibilities for providing ESFs, KKG has been able to respond in the field and to the EOC to organize, manage and coordinate services such as volunteers, donations, local assistance center services, and perform as a Liaison to community partners from all community sectors for assistance with care and shelter, mass feeding and other types of services needed, and fulfilled from within the community.
While serving in the response and recovery phases, KKG was assigned a specific position within the ICS EOC and/or field structure, and was able to closely communicate with appropriate sections within the EOC to maintain a common operating picture, provide situational awareness, provide input into public messaging, and to assist with setting realistic and attainable objectives, and to request and fill resource requests for the mission.
During KKG response, we were able to provide Just-in-time training for DSWs to fulfill the duties and responsibilities needed to sustain staffing throughout the duration of the disaster.
